Take the Lead partners come from a variety of backgrounds. We have researchers, dance coaches, accountants, board members, and fans, to name a few. The one thing they all have in common is a desire to showcase Halifax and bring exciting events to our doorstep. 


The opportunities they foster bring millions of dollars in economic impact each year and make our city a more vibrant place to live and work.

TAKE THE LEAD CHAMPION PIN

Discover Halifax partnered with artist Meichan (Amy) Yaun of NSCAD University in 2022 to create a commemorative pin, which is given to  our Take the Lead Champions. The pin has three symbolic design elements:


  1. The curves symbolize the identity of Halifax, shaped by the ocean. 
  2. It’s lines - the qualities required for leadership. 
  3. The amethyst circle represents our Champions riding high on the wave generated by the event they helped bring into our city.
