BEACON EVENT AWARD

The Halifax International Security Forum (HISF) was announced as the recipient of the first-ever Beacon Event Award at an intimate reception hosted at the Westin Nova Scotian Hotel on August 7, 2024.

WHY THE HALIFAX INTERNATIONAL SECURITY FORUM?

HISF is a premiere event for our city, returning to Halifax celebrating its 16th year in November 2024. Since it's beginning, HISF has brought more than 4,300 leaders from around the democratic world to Halifax to discuss important global issues. 

Tens of millions of dollars have been contributed to the Nova Scotia economy as a result of HISF continuing to choose Halifax as it's landing place. The event engages our local community, post-secondary institutions and supports local businesses. 

This event not only shines a light on Halifax, but Canada as a whole. It puts Canada at the forefront of important and necessary discussions about peace and safety globally. 

ABOUT THE BEACON EVENT AWARD 

The Take the Lead, Beacon Event Award is given to an event that significantly contributes to Halifax's reputation as a world-class destination, demonstrating excellence in organization, impact, and engagement.   

The Take the Lead program itself is designed to Support, Celebrate & Thank individuals who bring incredible events to our city, while the Beacon Event Award is designed to honour an event as a whole for it's impact. Beacon Events shine a spotlight on the city of Halifax.
